Networking Bingo for Events and Teams
Give attendees a simple reason to meet useful people they would not otherwise approach. Networking Bingo turns an open-ended instruction to “network” into specific, low-pressure reasons to start useful conversations.
It is a lightweight facilitation activity rather than an event platform. There is no badge scanning, attendee matching or lead capture: participants simply receive a card of professionally useful connections to make, and complete it by talking to people.
Who it is for
Event managers, conference producers, associations, customer and community event teams, and professional facilitators who need a room of people to start talking to each other quickly.
It suits any session where attendees arrive as individuals and leave more useful to one another: welcome receptions, conference networking breaks, association events, customer or user conferences, and professional mixers.
The job it does
Most attendees know they should network and still spend the break with the colleague they arrived with. A card gives them a specific opening line, permission to approach a stranger and a visible reason to move on politely afterwards.
The prompts should be professionally relevant rather than novelty facts: different job functions, different sectors, shared problems, useful experience, recommendations worth having and people worth following up with after the event.
Example networking bingo prompts
- Meet someone attending this event for the first time.
- Meet someone from a different job function.
- Meet someone working on a similar problem to you.
- Meet someone who has solved a challenge you currently face.
- Meet someone from a different industry or a different size of organisation.
- Exchange one genuinely useful recommendation with someone.
- Meet someone you could introduce to another attendee.
- Meet someone you would like to follow up with after the event.

How to run it at an event
- Decide where the activity fits: a welcome reception, a mid-morning break or the opening of a networking session.
- Choose prompts that reflect who is actually in the room, including sectors, roles and seniority.
- Customise the card in RoomZing and add your event or organisation branding.
- Share the game with a QR code on screen, on signage or on the badge insert, or print cards for the tables.
- Tell attendees whether they are aiming for a line or a full card, and give a clear finish time.
- Close the activity by asking a few people to name one connection worth following up.
Where Networking Bingo ends and Conference Bingo begins
Networking Bingo is about person-to-person professional connections. If you want attendees to engage with the whole event — talks, speakers, sessions, sponsor and exhibitor stands and event moments as well as people — use Conference Bingo instead.
If the group is largely unfamiliar and the goal is simply a comfortable introduction rather than professional connection, an icebreaker bingo activity is the lighter option.
Running it at event scale
A free RoomZing account covers up to 30 live participants per session, up to 30 printable cards per export and up to 3 saved active games — enough to trial the activity at a small reception.
Pro supports up to 250 live participants in a session and up to 250 printable cards per export, adds your organisation logo and full brand colours, removes RoomZing branding, lets you duplicate and reuse a proven card for the next event, and keeps session history and completion analytics afterwards.
Facilitation tips
- Keep every square something an attendee can ask about comfortably in a two-minute conversation.
- Avoid prompts about anything personal or protected; this is a professional room.
- Say clearly that the same person cannot fill every square, so people keep moving.
- Give attendees a way to note who they met, so the follow-up survives the event.
- Do not promise business outcomes. The activity creates conversations, not guaranteed leads.
