Using RoomZing

By creating an account or using RoomZing, you agree to these terms. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement, and you're responsible for the content you create and share through the service, including prompts, logos and brand colours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use RoomZing to create or share content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that breach these terms.

User-created games and acceptable content

RoomZing allows users to create and run their own games. We do not routinely review or approve games before they are created, shared or played, and responsibility for the content of a game remains with the user who creates it.

You must not use RoomZing to create, publish, share or operate a game that:

• is unlawful or encourages unlawful activity;
• threatens, harasses, abuses or deliberately targets another person or group;
• contains content intended to cause harm;
• contains seriously offensive, hateful, discriminatory or obscene material;
• infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights;
• contains malicious, fraudulent or deliberately misleading material;
• facilitates exploitation, abuse or other harmful activity; or
• otherwise breaches these Terms or applicable law.

Automated content checks

RoomZing may automatically check text entered into user-created games to help prevent obscene, sexually explicit, hateful, threatening, severely abusive, or otherwise prohibited content from being created or shared through the service.

These checks may include automated word and phrase matching, detection of deliberately disguised wording, and automated contextual or multilingual content analysis.

Some words or phrases may be restricted even where they are written using alternative spellings, symbols, spacing, punctuation, other scripts, or another language.

Automated checks are not perfect and may occasionally restrict content that was not intended to be offensive or prohibited. If RoomZing prevents content from being saved, you may need to change the wording before continuing.

Payment for a RoomZing subscription does not provide a right to create, save, publish, or distribute content that breaches these Terms or RoomZing’s content standards.

Official RoomZing templates may contain adult humour, sexual innuendo and strong language supplied by RoomZing. Customers may customise these templates, but any new or modified wording remains subject to RoomZing’s normal content checks.

We may update our content-filtering rules from time to time to help protect users and maintain appropriate use of the service.

Our right to moderate games

RoomZing reserves the right to review any user-created game where we become aware of a potential problem.

We may, where we reasonably consider it necessary:

• temporarily pause a game;
• prevent a game from being launched or joined;
• remove or permanently delete a game;
• restrict access to associated content; or
• take other proportionate action to protect users, RoomZing or third parties.

We may take such action where a game appears to be unlawful, harmful, seriously offensive, abusive, infringing, unsafe, or otherwise contrary to these Terms.

Where appropriate, a game may be paused while we investigate and subsequently restored if no further action is required.

RoomZing is not required to manually inspect or approve every game before it can be used.

Reporting a game

If you believe a RoomZing game contains unlawful, harmful, abusive, offensive or otherwise inappropriate content, report it to hello@roomzing.com.

Ask us to include, where available:

• game name;
• username or name of the game creator;
• game/join code;
• relevant RoomZing link;
• brief explanation of the issue;
• screenshots or other useful evidence.

Please do not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information in your report.

Plans and billing

RoomZing offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan, described on our pricing page. Pro is billed by card monthly or annually in advance. You can upgrade, update your payment details or cancel at any time from your account billing page; cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, after which the account returns to Free limits without deleting your games.

Cancellation, refunds and your consumer rights

You can cancel Pro yourself at any time from the billing portal linked on your account billing page. A cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep Pro until then. After that your account returns to Free limits and your saved games, prompts and session history are kept, not deleted.

If something has gone wrong — a duplicate charge, a renewal you did not expect, or a plan that did not work as described — contact us at hello@roomzing.com with the email address on the account and roughly when you were charged. Outside your statutory rights, refunds are considered case by case and assessed fairly on the circumstances rather than by a fixed rule.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law. If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA you may have a right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Where you have expressly asked for the digital service to start immediately and acknowledged that starting it may affect that right, the way the withdrawal right applies can differ, and any amount refundable may reflect the service already supplied. We will always apply the law that gives you the stronger protection.

Your content

You retain ownership of the prompts, logos and other content you upload. You grant us a licence to store and display that content solely to provide the RoomZing service to you and the participants you invite.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep RoomZing available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. RoomZing is provided as-is, and to the extent permitted by law we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
